Malala Yousafzai (ملاله یوسفزۍ}} Malālah Yūsafzay is a Pakistani girl who was born on July 12th, 1997. Malala is a student who comes from the town of Mingora, Swat District, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. Malala is known as a young activist who wants to promote and advance the rights of women in education. Malala born as a Pusthun tribe whose family embraced Sunni Islam tightly. The name of Malala is taken from the poet and warrior women Pusthun tribe, Malalai of Maiwan.
Malala fighting to promote the women’s right is not an easy. She lived and studied in an environment that is controlled by the Taliban, a militant group known to be the most dangerous in Pakistan. In fact, the Taliban has its own view on the application of Islam sharia law, which they mean that women are forbidden to attend school. The strength of a large group of Taliban in Pakistan even made schools for women in Pakistan was forced to shut down. The Taliban threatened to destroy the school if still open. This situation touched the hearts and minds Malala. Malala wants to be able to fight for the rights of women education.
Malala inherited her brave as an activist from his father. Malala's father, Ziauddin Yousafzai, also an education activist in Pakistan, the poet, also the owner of several school girls named Khushal Public School. Ziauddin guide his daughter to become a politician who dared to struggle in the path of truth. Since 2008, Malala began to speak in public, on television and on the radio. Malala name began to be known since the beginning of 2009. At that time, Malala was chosen to be the author of the article to be published on the BBC Urdu. Initially, Abdul Hai Kakkar, a BBC Urdu, choose Aisha, a student of Ziauddin to write for BBC Urdu. However, only a few times writing, Aisha parents forbid her writing again. For security reasons, Malala do not use her own name for writing. Each article of Malala was labeled with the name "Gul Makai", which means cornflower in Urdu. Malala stop writing on March 12, 2009. Furthermore, Malala and her father got an offer to make a documentary film by a New York Times reporter, Adam B. Ellick.
The Courage of Malala in the fight for their rights makes Malala earned a nomination in the "International Children's Peace Prize" by Desmond Tutu, an activist from South Africa, On October 25, 2011. Then, on December 19, 2011, Malala was awarded "Pakistan's National Youth Peace Prize 'by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.
Malala Yousafzai struggles able to open the eyes of many people about precious rights of women. However, her struggle brought her to get hurt by Taliban. On October 9, 2012, Malala get attempted murder by a group of armed Taliban when she was in the school bus. Malala was shot in the head and neck. To save her life, Malala was flown to England for treatment in a hospital in Birmingham. The shootings had horrendous the whole world. They condemned the Taliban for their actions. However, Taliban Leader, Adnan Rasheed, admitted his regret in a letter that was sent to Malala about the shooting incident.
Now, Malala has recovered from his critical condition. Malala also still continue the struggle for women's rights and education. She again earned the Nobel Peace Prize 2014. Her age is still 17 years old, making Malala became the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace ever. Malala become the inspiration for many people. Although she is still very young, but she already had the courage to fight for the rights.
