Indonesia has recently opened tenders for government procurement official’s new car. In the tender, PT. Mercedes Benz Indonesia emerged as the winner. PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia won the public auction bid construction procurement minister's car / ministerial-level officials, former president, and former vice president of Rp 91.94 billions or about USD 9 million. The tender value is lower than the draft budget of Rp104,4 billion.

The victory of PT. Mercedes Benz or commonly known as Mercy cars in Indonesia, announced by the Ministry of the State Secretariat. According to him, it has gone through numerous considerations of the evaluation, including administrative, technical, and price. Indonesia State Secretary, Sudi Silalahi, says there are three considerations that led Mercy emerged as the winner of the tender for the procurement of official vehicles of these state officials.
These considerations including, the first is due to the location of production that is located also inside of Indonesian State. Secondly, the offer of free maintenance facilities offered for 5 years. The third is due to price considerations. According to him, the price of Mercy is apparently much cheaper than cars Toyota Crown Royal Saloon that used in the previous administration. Price per unit of Toyota cars used in the current government has reached more than USD 1 billion or USD 100,000, or even more expensive hundreds of millions of dollars of Mercy. Mercy is entitled to hold a number of cars according to the number official state and state institutions.
