Most Complaints Product in Online Trading

Since the coming of the internet, many companies began to sell their products online. In recent years, trading online becomes more popular. This is because online trading can be easier and cheaper than conventional trading, both for buyer and for seller. No wonder if the number of online trading continues to grow. Now days, many kind of product can be found in online trading, including fashion products. Yes, fashion products become one of the most popular marketed products in the online trading.
Unfortunately, some fashion products are rather difficult to fit to the each customer, such as shoes. Therefore, online shop that sells shoes products grows in a huge number. However, compared with other fashion items, shoes are considered as the source of most complaints in the online business world. As well as happened in Korea which is popular of its fashion trend. Online trading has been widely used in Korean society. Many people choose to buy fashion products through online shop, including buying shoes. But shoes in the Seoul are also noted that the shoe is a product of online trading that receives the most complaints by online shoppers.
Many customers complaint because the shoes they bought doesn’t fit in their foot. That’s why many buyers are disappointed and ask for a refund. This is indeed one of the major weaknesses of the trade through e-commerce. Buyers may see the product through the images on display at the site. But, the site cannot show the actual size of the product. Moreover, the size of shoes not always same one another. Whereas, shoes are require precision measure that can be used comfortably.
After examining 23,791 complaints by consumers in 2013, Seoul local government said that more than 1 in 3 people or 8,657 cases (36.4%) associated with footwear. Besides shoes, the high number of complaint also come from clothing in 27.8%, followed by gift coupons at 4, 5%.

Based on the reason of consumer complaint, the online buyers most annoyed by the difficulties encountered when getting a refund.  There are about 7,360 cases, or 32.1%, which is mentioned as a top reason for complaint. This reason is followed by an online site inaccessibility thus making it difficult to contact the seller in cases about 20.8%. Others reason is related to slow delivery in 17.5%. Even though, the total number of complaints jumped 25.9% from a year earlier to 18,902.
Park Sang-young, an official of the Seoul city government, said that after reporting complaints, 8,320 consumers receive compensation amounting to 1.11 billion won last year. This fact should be a lesson to the buyer and seller in online trading to try reducing the complaint.
