Indonesia is well known as the largest archipelago country in the world. Having about 13.500 islands widespread around Indonesian territory. Many of these islands are considered inhabited or empty island. Whereas, each of this island have beautiful scenery and exotic. Of course, many people want to have this island for private or even for business.

In fact, none of Indonesian island can be sold to the foreigner. Indonesian Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries affirms that selling island to the foreigner is something that breaking the law. Indonesian law is not allows any foreigner, including as a private or business to have any island in Indonesia. Even though, trading island has ever been happened in Indonesia. Of course, it did illegally. Till now days, the foreigner still not permitted to have any Indonesian island. So, there is no notary able to involve to this kind of trading. Even though, Indonesian law still permits to the foreigner to rent an island in Indonesia, but not to buy.
Many foreigners are tricked about island trading online in internet. A few times ago, there is an offer about Kiluan Island, noted as a product sale in value about USD 300.000. But, this is an illegal trading done by irresponsible people. That’s why Indonesian government announce about this prohibition. The only allowed is about rent an island, but not to buy and sell. Hence, the government will not give any certificate of ownership at all. Certificate of ownership, only permitted to Indonesian citizen.
