Do you know that October 15 is celebrated as the world animal day or Animal Rights Day worldwide? This day is marked by the presence of the Universal Declaration of Animal Welfare that is supported by 46 countries and 330 support groups of animals.
Not only human beings who have rights to be protected. Animals also have rights that must be protected. Animal rights consists of five freedoms, i.e. free of thirst and hunger, discomfort, express natural behaviors, stress and fear and hurt and pain.
Indeed, many people may not know or be aware of the rights of these animals. However, this moment, the level of public awareness on animal rights has increased. It can be seen from the human concern in providing information breaches and protests, for example against poaching.
However, cases of violence against animals are still found, usually in zoos and circuses. But, this is only done by a certain person who is not responsible. It could also happens because people do not really aware of the right of animals.
In case of zoo, not all zoo firmly set on the treatment of animals to the visitors. This can pose a risk of violation of animal rights, for example, when visitors to feed the animals do not fit or make uncomfortable.
Negligence on the rights of animals also raises the risk of disease transmission from animals to humans or Zonosis. Zonosis occurs when stressed or injured animals. Stressed and injured animals showed negligence in the fulfillment of their rights free from stress and pain. As we know about the animals right that have to be protected, so we need to more careful and pay attention to this case. Just simply start by do no harm to animals.

How World Animal Day celebrated?
There is warm greetings from Nairobi, Kenya, to the animals all over the world. Kenya has conducted two successful awareness campaign marches on World Animal Day in October 3. This campaign was under the themes “Animals Matter” and “Global March for Elephants and Rhinos. Besides, they, the Africa Network for Animal Welfare, the Pan African Animal Welfare Alliance, and Kenyans United Against Poaching, joined other organizations under the auspices of Animal Welfare Action Kenya in conducting an animal clinic that vaccinated dogs, cats and donkeys against rabies and treated animals for various ailments. The Animal Welfare Action Kenya members include the Kenya Veterinary Association, Kenya SPCA, and the Donkey Sanctuary.
In Singapore, world animal day is welcomed by the born of one special species. To celebrate World Animal Day 2014 this year, Wildlife Reserves Singapore announced the birth of some endangered animals in the world. One of them was born in the Sunda pangolin that is native to Singapore. The birth of an endangered Sunda pangolin in the Night Safari in, is one of the birth of iconic success for Wildlife Reserves Singapore Singapore as a native species. As a token of appreciation, these animals are also used as the logo for the Conservation of Wildlife Reserves Singapore.
