Indonesia Lost its Potential Tax from Online Business

Ciber Park Indonesia said that the online business has given disadvantages to Indonesia worth billions of dollars. Although many people feel the benefit because of using an online business, but in fact it can not ensure that the country can also benefit. This is because in Indonesia, transactions from online businesses still do not have any control from the government.
The Indonesian large market has attracted online businesses. Moreover, a high level of consumer society makes a variety of products that are marketed through online with low price to more easily find a buyer. Indonesian Trade Ministry admitted that the online transaction of online business in Indonesia has reached hundreds of billions of dollars. If this transaction to value added tax of 10 percent officially, then it can be calculated how much the Indonesian government lost revenue from only this tax.

While the online business keeps growing, tax of this business activity cannot be used by the Indonesian government. It is something that is very detrimental to Indonesia as well as a weakness. The Indonesian government is still not able to fully supervise the transaction of this business. Perhaps, the Indonesian government does not care enough to lose this great potential tax.
One online store can sell a variety of products with hundreds of brands which when displayed at the mall, can require up to three malls. However, because there are no rules that govern them, then there is no tax levied on products that only display virtually, although it has similar form to that displayed in the store. In this case, at least, the aggrieved state taxes could reach hundreds of millions of dollars.
